A superb effort by Jack Spradlin carried the Amarillo (19-14) to a 6-1 win over the Kansas City (16-17) on Thursday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
Spradlin held the Kansas City scoreless for eight innings. Spradlin struck out five and allowed no walks and four hits.
Van Pope racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Amarillo. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.
Devin Anderson (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
