The Newark built an early edge on Thursday, but the Grand Prairie (17-10) roared back to steal a 6-4 victory at QuikTrip Park.

The Newark had no answer for Derrick Miramontes, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Miramontes held the Newark hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
The Grand Prairie were sparked by Keanon Simon and David Thomas, who teamed up for six hits and two RBIs.
