The Gary SouthShore (11-12) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Newark, securing a 5-4 victory on Sunday at Gary, Ind. (U.S. Steel Yard).

The Gary SouthShore pulled out the win thanks to a strong sixth inning. A sacrifice fly by Adam Klein scored David Cooper and gave the Gary SouthShore the lead for good.

Craig Maddox racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Gary SouthShore. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Kyle Wilson picked up the win for the Gary SouthShore. Wilson pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four.

Brian Parker was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
