Luis Uribe drove in the winning run to give the Laredo (10-14) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Laredo hung on to beat the Winnipeg (17-6) 3-1 on Tuesday.Yunesky Sanchez was hit by a pitch to start the eighth. He then went from first to second on an error. Finally, Uribe came to the plate with the score tied at one, and singled, scoring Sanchez and Jorge Delgado.
Uribe racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Laredo. He singled in the third and eighth innings.
Todd Privett handled the Winnipeg's lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Privett allowed one earned run on seven hits and no walks over six innings.
Garrett Sherrill got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Dexter Carter was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
