Willis helps the USSSA Pride down the Akron Racers 6-2

The USSSA Pride (23-11) beat the Akron Racers (13-22) 6-2 on Saturday at ESPN Wide World behind Megan Willis, who went 2-3 and hit a home run.

She homered in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Danielle Lawrie picked up the win for the USSSA Pride. Lawrie pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out four.

Erin Arevalo put together a nice outing. Arevalo held the USSSA Pride hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Kristina Thorson couldn't get it done in the circle for the Akron Racers, taking a loss. She allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
