The USSSA Pride need walk-off to beat the Chicago Bandits, 3-2

Story by Narrative Science.

A walk-off from Ashley Charters brought home the winning run for the USSSA Pride (20-11) in a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Bandits (16-16) at ESPN Wide World on Saturday.

It was a good day at the plate for the USSSA Pride's Charters. Charters went 1-2. She singled in the second inning.

The USSSA Pride got the win thanks in large part to Danielle Lawrie's dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Lawrie allowed two earned runs on three hits and four walks over seven innings.

The Chicago Bandits were led by Alisa Goler's hitting. Goler went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the sixth inning.

Monica Abbott (9-3) took the loss for the Chicago Bandits. She lasted just two innings, walked five, struck out three, and allowed one run.
