Biannca Mejia drove in the go-ahead run to give the Carolina Diamonds (5-10) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Carolina Diamonds hung on to beat the Akron Racers (5-10) 4-3 on Sunday.

With the Carolina Diamonds trailing by one, Mejia came to the plate and homered, scoring Rachel Folden.

Mejia racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Carolina Diamonds. She homered in the seventh inning.

Folden had a hot bat for the Carolina Diamonds. Folden went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Sharon Palma got the win, running her season record to 1-1. She struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Lisa Norris couldn't get it done in the circle for the Akron Racers, taking a loss. She lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
