An exceptional effort by Joe Thurston lifted the York Revolution (54-50) to an 8-1 win over the Camden Riversharks (48-55) on Saturday at Campbells Field.
Thurston rocked the Camden Riversharks with two home runs. Thurston went 3-5 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Thurston homered in the first and fifth innings.
The York Revolution blew out the Camden Riversharks thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The York Revolution scored four runs in the fifth on a solo home run by Thurston, , a double by Johan Limonta, an error, and a double by Michael Hernandez.
Chris Waters's six strikeouts helped the York Revolution to the victory. Waters allowed one earned run, seven hits and no walks over 6 2/3 innings.
Bryan Corey (7-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
