The Torrington Titans get 5 strikeouts from Dierke in 4-2 win over the Pittsfield Suns

An outstanding effort by Tyler Dierke hoisted the Torrington Titans (3-0) to a 4-2 win over the Pittsfield Suns (2-2) on Sunday at Fuessenich Park.

Dierke held the Pittsfield Suns scoreless for seven innings. Dierke allowed three hits, no walks and struck out five.

The Torrington Titans held off the Pittsfield Suns, as the Pittsfield Suns were unable to overcome a four-run fourth inning deficit.

The Pittsfield Suns scored two runs in the eighth on a two-run single by Chad Funkhouser. Despite their efforts, the Pittsfield Suns couldn't get over the hump.

The Torrington Titans were led by a flawless day at the dish by Gus Craig, who went 3-3 against the Pittsfield Suns' pitching. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Dan Bradley (0-1) took the loss for the Pittsfield Suns. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
