Both the Nashua Silver Knights (35-11) and the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (7-38) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the Nashua Silver Knights that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-2 win at Holman Stadium.

The fact that the Nashua Silver Knights grouped all of their runs into the fifth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

The Nashua Silver Knights would not relinquish the lead as the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs were unable to weather a three-run fifth inning deficit.

The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs scored one run in the ninth on. Despite their efforts, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs couldn't get over the hump.

The Nashua Silver Knights got the win thanks in large part to Nick Poore's dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Poore allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk over six innings.

Connor Ortolf (0-7) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
