Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

Dierke's big day not enough as the Torrington Titans fall to the Seacoast Mavericks, 5-2

Story by Narrative Science.

Tyler Dierke tossed seven scoreless innings, but it wasn't enough to carry the Torrington Titans (13-12) to a win on Monday, as the Torrington Titans fell to the Seacoast Mavericks (14-12) 5-2 at Fuessenich Park.

The Seacoast Mavericks found themselves down in the ninth inning but managed to fight back and claim the win.

It was a good day at the plate for the Seacoast Mavericks' Zach Berger. Berger went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the ninth inning.

The Torrington Titans had no answer for Kevin Mayone, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Mayone held the Torrington Titans hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Austin Bailey (1-2) took the loss for the Torrington Titans. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
