The Seacoast Mavericks hang on against the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide, 5-4

The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (7-8) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Seacoast Mavericks (9-8) on Friday, as the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide fell 5-4 at The Ball Park after falling behind by four runs in the fourth inning.

The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide scored on an RBI single by Michael Cleary in the fourth inning, an error in the fifth inning, and an RBI double by Cleary in the eighth inning. Still, the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide couldn't draw even.

Anyelo Roman got on base three times in the game for the Seacoast Mavericks. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Colin Gay had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and third innings and singled in the sixth innings.

Doug Willey improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings. Willey struck out three, walked none and gave up three hits.

Joey Royer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
