Mike Bradstreet hopes every outing could go as well as Wednesday, as Bradstreet struck out eight batters to carry the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (6-7) to a 9-1 victory over the North Shore Navigators (11-4) at Vineyard Baseball Park.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Marthas Vineyard Sharks to easily put away the North Shore Navigators. An RBI single by Justin Meier, an RBI single by Meier, and an error during the first inning and a single by Tad Gold, an RBI single by Nick Sanford, and an RBI single by Eric Jensen in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks.
Jensen racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks.
The North Shore Navigators' Tony Serino was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.
Tim Cassidy (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
