The Pittsfield Suns top the Torrington Titans in back-and-forth affair, 7-6

The Pittsfield Suns (7-6) and the Torrington Titans (6-5) traded the lead six times on Saturday, but the Pittsfield Suns ended up on top with a 7-6 win over the Torrington Titans.

The Pittsfield Suns took the lead in the ninth inning and held on for the victory. An error scored Brandon Howard and gave the Pittsfield Suns the lead for good.

Ryan Deitrich got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

The Torrington Titans couldn't get anything going as long as Michael Meszoros was pitching. Meszoros held the Torrington Titans hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.

Adam Krebs got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Krebs struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Austin Bailey couldn't get it done on the hill for the Torrington Titans, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
