The Seacoast Mavericks seventh-inning burst enough to top the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, 9-2

The Seacoast Mavericks (6-7) took down the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (5-5) 9-2 on Sunday at Vineyard Baseball Park after slamming the Marthas Vineyard Sharks with five runs in the seventh inning.

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Marthas Vineyard Sharks led until the sixth inning, but the Seacoast Mavericks took the lead back on a sacrifice fly by Greg Wilson.

Kevin Stenhouse racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Seacoast Mavericks. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Kyle Bobolts brought the heat against the Marthas Vineyard Sharks during his outing. Bobolts held the Marthas Vineyard Sharks hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.

Junior Vasquez improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed two runs over five innings. Vasquez struck out one, walked five and gave up four hits.

Corey Laliberte (1-1) took the loss for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
