A solo home run by Kevin Zak, a solo home run by Brugnoni, and a two-run home run by Brugnoni during the first inning and an error, an error, a solo home run by Dan Zuchowski, a two-run home run by Zuchowski, and a solo home run by Brugnoni in the second inning helped the Chillicothe Paints put some runs on the board early.
The Richmond RiverRats had no answer for Brandon Sega, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Sega gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Justin Pearson got on base three times in the game for the Richmond RiverRats. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.
J.T. Miller improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked three and surrendered six hits.
Peter Spear was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked two and struck out one.
