After eight lead changes in Wednesday's game at McBride Stadium, the Richmond RiverRats (24-17) finally pulled out a 6-5 win over the Lorain County Ironmen (11-32).

The Richmond RiverRats would not relinquish the lead as the Lorain County Ironmen were unable to weather a two-run seventh inning deficit.

The Lorain County Ironmen scored one run in the eighth on an RBI single by Jesse Carriere. Still, the Lorain County Ironmen couldn't draw even.

Jake Welch rocked the Lorain County Ironmen with two home runs. Welch went 2-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Welch homered in the third and fifth innings.

Micah Wolfe got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked four and surrendered six hits.

Spencer Bryant (0-3) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
