Luke Meeteer collected three hits, helping the West Virginia Miners (6-1) to a 6-1 victory over the Richmond RiverRats (3-4) on Tuesday at McBride Stadium.

The West Virginia Miners relied on Jared Messer to eat up innings en route to the win. Messer allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Lance Sheets couldn't get it done on the mound for the Richmond RiverRats, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
