Ryan Cypret collected three hits, sparking the Chillicothe Paints (36-24) to a 6-2 victory over the West Virginia Miners (40-19) on Monday at VA Memorial Stadium.

The West Virginia Miners had no answer for Brandon Sega, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The West Virginia Miners managed just three hits off of Sega, who allowed two earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his six innings of work.

Clayton Prestridge was solid at the plate for the West Virginia Miners. Prestridge went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.

Pat Shedlock (1-1) took the loss for the West Virginia Miners. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
