The Chillicothe Paints fight back, defeat the Richmond RiverRats, 14-13

Things looked bleak for the Chillicothe Paints (26-18) when they trailed by 10 runs in the sixth inning, but the Chillicothe Paints recovered thanks to a key single in the seventh inning from Vinnie Booker to pull out a 14-13 win over the Richmond RiverRats (24-18) at VA Memorial Stadium.

With the Chillicothe Paints trailing by one, Booker came to the plate and singled, scoring Aaron Hopper and Jared Kujawa.

Booker reached base three times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He singled in the seventh inning.

Offense was not hard to come by on on Thursday, as both teams combined for 27 runs and 31 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with eight pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

Nick Lombardi racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Chillicothe Paints. He homered in the sixth inning.

Brandon Sega recorded his first win of the year for the Chillicothe Paints. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Lance Sheets ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
