The Butler Blue Sox defeat the Slippery Rock Sliders after late game single, 7-2

The Butler Blue Sox (32-26) and the Slippery Rock Sliders (20-39) passed the lead back and forth four times on Sunday at Pullman Park, but in the end the Butler Blue Sox pulled out a 7-2 win over the Slippery Rock Sliders.

Alexander Miklos had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth and sixth innings.

Eddie Emes picked up the win for the Butler Blue Sox. Emes pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out three.

The Slippery Rock Sliders were led by Steve Sulcoski's hitting. Sulcoski went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second and fifth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Jim Miller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
