The Butler Blue Sox's Earley comes through in the clutch, upends the Richmond RiverRats, 6-4

Nolan Earley brought home the go-ahead run to give the Butler Blue Sox (5-4) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Butler Blue Sox hung on to beat the Richmond RiverRats (3-6) 6-4 on Thursday.

Jake Welch singled to start the eighth. He then went from first to second. Finally, Earley came to the plate with the Richmond RiverRats trailing by one in the eighth inning, and doubled, plating Welch.

Earley racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Richmond RiverRats. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Eric Hess was hot from the plate for the Butler Blue Sox. Hess went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second, fourth, and eighth innings.

Kyle Thomas allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out three over 7 2/3 innings of work.

John Rossi recorded his second win of the year for the Butler Blue Sox. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Alexander Sroka was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
