Harwich Mariners vs Brewster Whitecaps: 5-1

The Brewster Whitecaps outdone by Dove and the Harwich Mariners, 5-1

Sam Dove had two extra base hits, sparking the Harwich Mariners (27-16) to a 5-1 victory over the Brewster Whitecaps (17-26) on Tuesday at Stony Brook.

He homered in the third inning, tripled in the fourth inning, and singled in the ninth inning.

Cole Pitts had an impressive outing against the Brewster Whitecaps' lineup. The Brewster Whitecaps managed just one hit off of the the Harwich Mariners' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Aaron Judge was solid at the plate for the Brewster Whitecaps. Judge went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

The Harwich Mariners couldn't get anything going so long as Michael Burchett was on the hill. Burchett held the Harwich Mariners hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Phil Ervin recorded his first win of the year for the Harwich Mariners. Ervin struck out three, walked none and gave up three hits.

Jake Kalish (2-3) took the loss for the Brewster Whitecaps. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
