An impressive effort by Daniel Aldrich lifted the Cotuit Kettleers (26-13) to a 9-4 win over the Wareham Gatemen (17-22) on Friday at Spillane Field.
Aldrich blasted two home runs for the Cotuit Kettleers. Aldrich went 3-4 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Aldrich homered in the first and second innings.
The Cotuit Kettleers scored five runs in the first inning to build an early lead.
The Wareham Gatemen's lineup had no answer for Cameron Griffin. Griffin gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his three innings of work.
Tyler Horan racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Wareham Gatemen. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Ryan Connolly improved to 8-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Cotuit Kettleers. He allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered four hits.
Dan Tobik ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked three and struck out six.
