A great day by Jon Keller wasn't enough to carry the Bourne Braves (16-23) to a win on Friday, as the Bourne Braves fell to the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (23-17) 5-1 at Doran Park.
Keller kept the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox off the board during his seven innings of work. Keller allowed three hits, one walk and struck out six.
Carlos Asuaje helped the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox take the lead for good in the eighth inning. Josh Tobias reached on an error to start the eighth. He then went from first to third on an RBI single by Justin Shafer. Finally, Asuaje came to the plate with the score tied at one in the eighth inning, and singled, plating Tobias and Shafer.
Ben Lively had an impressive outing against the Bourne Braves' lineup. The Bourne Braves managed just three hits off of Lively, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Jose Lopez recorded his first win of the year for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Lopez struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Brandon Moore ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
