Chad Morgan drove in the go-ahead run to give the Chatham Anglers (18-20) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Chatham Anglers hung on to beat the Brewster Whitecaps (14-23) 4-2 on Thursday.Andrew Knapp reached on an error to start the eighth. He then went from first to second on a single by Adam Engel. Finally, Morgan came to the plate with the score tied at two in the eighth inning, and doubled, bringing home Knapp and Engel.
Morgan had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Michael Wagner handled the Brewster Whitecaps' lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Wagner allowed no earned runs, four hits and no walks over seven innings.
Jaime Schultz improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Chatham Anglers. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Sam Moll couldn't get it done on the bump for the Brewster Whitecaps, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
