Sean Hagan hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as Hagan threw a shutout to carry the Falmouth Commodores (17-19) to a 6-0 victory over the Brewster Whitecaps at Stony Brook.
Hagan brought the heat against the Brewster Whitecaps (14-20) during his outing. The Brewster Whitecaps managed just one hit off of Hagan, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out nine during his nine innings of work.
The Falmouth Commodores blew out the Brewster Whitecaps thanks to 16 hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run single by Austin Anderson helped the Falmouth Commodores score two runs in the eighth. The Falmouth Commodores had three hits in the inning.
Anderson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Falmouth Commodores.
Luke Weaver ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
