The Brewster Whitecaps (12-18) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Orleans Firebirds (18-12), and the Brewster Whitecaps lost 4-3 to the Orleans Firebirds after falling behind by three runs in the fifth inning.
The Brewster Whitecaps scored on an error in the fifth inning and an RBI single by Aaron Judge in the eighth inning. Unfortunately, the Brewster Whitecaps weren't able to take the lead back.
Angelo La Bruna racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Brewster Whitecaps couldn't get anything going so long as Philip Pfeifer was on the hill. Pfeifer held the Brewster Whitecaps hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Despite the loss, the Brewster Whitecaps' Sam Moll dominated the Orleans Firebirds' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.
Austin Kubitza improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Orleans Firebirds. Kubitza struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.
Brady Kirkpatrick was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
