The Chatham Anglers make the most of 6 hits in 4-2 victory over the Harwich Mariners

The Chatham Anglers (13-11) and the Harwich Mariners (16-8) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Chatham Anglers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-2 win at Whitehouse Field.

John Martinez racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Chatham Anglers. He homered in the fourth inning.

Jake Joyce looked sharp on the mound. Joyce gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Brett Austin had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Michael Wagner improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chatham Anglers. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out eight, walked four and surrendered five hits.

David Whitehead couldn't get it done on the hill for the Harwich Mariners, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
