Jake Hernandez clubbed two home runs to carry the Orleans Firebirds (15-9) to a 9-4 win over the Falmouth Commodores (13-11) at Arnie Allen Diamond.
Hernandez racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He doubled in the second inning, homered in the fourth and sixth innings, and singled in the seventh inning.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.
Pat Christensen put together a nice outing. The Falmouth Commodores managed just one hit off of Christensen, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his three innings of work.
Jake Rodriguez was hot from the plate for the Falmouth Commodores. Rodriguez went 2-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first innings and tripled in the fifth inning.
Jonathan Dziedzic couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Falmouth Commodores, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
