The Wareham Gatemen (10-14) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Cotuit Kettleers (14-10) on Friday, as the Wareham Gatemen fell 2-1 at Lowell Park after falling behind by two runs in the fourth inning.
The Wareham Gatemen scored one run in the sixth on a solo home run by Daniel Palka. Unfortunately, the Wareham Gatemen weren't able to take the lead back.
Ryan Connolly had an impressive outing against the Wareham Gatemen's lineup. Connolly held the Wareham Gatemen hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Kevin Ziomek got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings. Ziomek struck out five, walked one and gave up seven hits.
