The Harwich Mariners make the most of 7 hits in 7-4 victory over the Orleans Firebirds

The Harwich Mariners (15-6) and the Orleans Firebirds (14-7) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Harwich Mariners that eventually took advantage of them in a 7-4 win at Eldredge Park.

Eric Jagielo did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Harwich Mariners, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the third inning.

Corey Littrell kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Orleans Firebirds batters. Littrell allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks over five innings.

Piikea Kitamura was solid at the plate for the Orleans Firebirds. Kitamura went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Jarrett Arakawa was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
