The Harwich Mariners need walk-off single to beat the Falmouth Commodores, 7-6

A walk-off single from Brian Ragira brought home the winning run for the Harwich Mariners (12-3) in a 7-6 victory over the Falmouth Commodores (9-6) at Whitehouse Field on Sunday.

Ragira racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Harwich Mariners. He singled in the ninth inning.

Austin Wilson put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Harwich Mariners. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Tyler Burgess pitched lights out for the Harwich Mariners. Burgess held the Falmouth Commodores hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Michael ONeill led the Falmouth Commodores' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the seventh inning.

Zane Evans got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Evans struck out one, walked two and gave up no hits.

John Simms ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The Harwich Mariners were sparked by Wilson and Eric Jagielo, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.
