Coty Blanchard drove in the winning run to give the Falmouth Commodores (8-5) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Falmouth Commodores hung on to beat the Chatham Anglers (7-5) 2-1 on Friday.Jonathan McGibbon was hit by a pitch to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Austin Anderson. Finally, Blanchard came to the plate with the score tied at one, and doubled, scoring McGibbon.
Michael ONeill was solid at the plate for the Falmouth Commodores. ONeill went 2-4. He singled in the sixth inning and tripled in the eighth inning.
Sean Hagan put together a nice outing. The Chatham Anglers managed just two hits off of Hagan, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his seven innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Chatham Anglers' Ryan Thompson dominated the Falmouth Commodores' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.
Tate Parrish was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
