The Orleans Firebirds take out the Hyannis Harbor Hawks with help from Gregor, 8-3

Conrad Gregor clubbed two home runs, helping the Orleans Firebirds (11-3) to an 8-3 victory over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (2-11) on Friday at McKeon Park.

He homered in the fourth and ninth innings.

The Hyannis Harbor Hawks had no answer for Dylan Clark, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Clark held the Hyannis Harbor Hawks hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Mitchell Garver was solid at the plate for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. Garver went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Jimmy Reed got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. Reed struck out five, walked none and gave up four hits.

Jeff Hoffman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed three runs.

The Orleans Firebirds were sparked by Gregor and Cody Kulp, who teamed up for six hits and six RBIs.
