ONeill's big day not enough as the Falmouth Commodores fall to the Wareham Gatemen, 12-10

Michael ONeill hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Falmouth Commodores (5-5) to a win on Friday, as the Falmouth Commodores fell to the Wareham Gatemen (4-6) 12-10 at Arnie Allen Diamond in 11 innings.

The Wareham Gatemen were in a difficult situation in the ninth inning before they recovered for the win.

Mott Hyde racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Wareham Gatemen. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and eleventh innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 22 total runs and 27 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with 10 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

Jonathan Holder recorded his first win of the year for the Wareham Gatemen. He allowed one run over three innings. Holder struck out four, walked two and gave up three hits.

John Simms (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

Kyle Schwarber, Daniel Palka, Hyde and Tyler Horan helped lead the Wareham Gatemen. They combined for 11 hits and six RBIs.
