The Washington Wild Things outlast the Lake Erie Crushers in extras, 2-1

It took 15 innings, but the Washington Wild Things (30-40) managed to put away the Lake Erie Crushers (39-32) 2-1 on Saturday.

With the Lake Erie Crushers trailing by one in the eighth inning, Andrew Davis came to the plate and homered.

Davis helped the Washington Wild Things take the lead for good in the eighth inning.

Davis had two extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the eighth inning and doubled in the tenth inning.

The Lake Erie Crushers' lineup had no answer for Gary Lee. Lee gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out two during his eight innings of work.

Alfonso Yevoli got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Yevoli struck out three, walked none and gave up no hits.

Travis Risser (4-4) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
