The Schaumburg Boomers jump on the Rockford RiverHawks early and coast to 15-1 win

The Schaumburg Boomers (51-38) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Rockford RiverHawks (36-53), recording a 15-1 victory on Saturday at RiverHawks Stadium.

With 11 runs in the first three innings, the Schaumburg Boomers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run home run by Nate Baumann and a home run by Jereme Milons during the first inning fueled the Schaumburg Boomers' offense early.

Baumann racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Schaumburg Boomers.

Evan Button had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Matt Kuna got the win, running his season record to 3-4. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Nick Anderson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out two.
