Jeremy Synan brought home the go-ahead run to give the River City Rascals (44-48) the lead in the eighth inning, as the River City Rascals hung on to beat the Evansville Otters (45-47) 5-4 on Thursday.Doug Sanders was hit by a pitch to start the eighth. He then went from first to third on a double by Jason Patton. Finally, Synan came to the plate with the score tied at three, and singled, scoring Sanders and Patton.
Synan racked up two RBIs on three hits for the River City Rascals. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.
The River City Rascals staved off the Evansville Otters as the Evansville Otters were unable to match the River City Rascals down the stretch.
The Evansville Otters scored one run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Luis Parache. Still, the Evansville Otters couldn't draw even.
Nick Kennedy recorded his fifth win of the year for the River City Rascals. Kennedy struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.
Wynn Pelzer (1-4) took the loss for the Evansville Otters. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
