The Lake Erie Crushers hang on against the River City Rascals, 7-5

The River City Rascals (26-23) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Lake Erie Crushers (26-23) on Friday, as the River City Rascals fell 7-5 at T. R. Hughes Ballpark after falling behind by five runs in the third inning.

The River City Rascals scored on an RBI single by Charlie Lisk and an error in the fourth inning, an RBI double by Matt Serna in the sixth inning, an RBI single by Lisk in the seventh inning, and an RBI single by Jeremy Synan in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the River City Rascals couldn't finish the comeback.

Jason Taylor reached base three times in the game for the Lake Erie Crushers. He scored three runs and had two RBIs. He homered in the third inning.

Synan had a hot bat for the River City Rascals. Synan went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run.

Trevor Longfellow improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Nick Kennedy (4-2) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out three.
