An exceptional effort by Rogelio Noris spurred the Gateway Grizzlies (55-38) to a 10-6 win over the Traverse City Beach Bums (62-31) on Thursday at Wuerfel Park.
Noris hit three home runs for the Gateway Grizzlies. Noris went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Noris homered in the first, sixth, and ninth innings.
The Gateway Grizzlies scored four runs in the first inning to build an early lead.
Jeff Flagg racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He homered in the fourth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and tripled in the ninth inning.
Tim Brown recorded his twelfth win for the Gateway Grizzlies even though he allowed five runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered eight hits.
Bennett Whitmore (6-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.
