The Schaumburg Boomers (11-8) didn't have a chance on Friday, as the River City Rascals (14-5) won in blowout fashion, 12-3 at Boomers Stadium.

The River City Rascals scored five runs in the fourth on a two-run double by Josh Workman, a two-run single by Gerardo Avila, an error, and a single by Zach Deutscher.

Workman racked up three RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals.

Tony Marsala picked up the win for the River City Rascals. Marsala allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out two over seven innings of work.

Robbie Penny was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
