The Florence Freedom (36-31) beat the Schaumburg Boomers 7-1 on Tuesday at Home of the Florence Freedom after a four-run explosion in the first inning.

Pierre LePage had two extra-base hits for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Alec Lewis kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Schaumburg Boomers (40-27) batters. Lewis allowed one earned run, 10 hits and no walks over 8 1/3 innings.

Alex Rivers (2-2) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked two and struck out one.

The Florence Freedom were sparked by Peter Fatse and LePage, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
