The Joliet Slammers survive the Lake Erie Crushers rally, escape with 3-1 victory

The Lake Erie Crushers (4-7) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Joliet Slammers (6-6), and the Lake Erie Crushers lost 3-1 to the Joliet Slammers after falling behind by three runs in the second inning.

The Lake Erie Crushers scored one run in the seventh on a solo home run by Rogelio Noris. Unfortunately, the Lake Erie Crushers weren't able to take the lead back.

Zach Mandelblatt racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the second inning.

Steven Maxwell's seven strikeouts helped the Joliet Slammers to the victory. Maxwell allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over seven innings.

Eric Gonzalez-Diaz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
