Recchia allows no runs to lead the Windy City ThunderBolts past the Schaumburg Boomers 6-2

Mike Recchia held the Schaumburg Boomers (5-3) scoreless for six innings to boost the Windy City ThunderBolts (5-3) to a 6-2 victory.

Recchia struck out two and allowed two walks and four hits.

The Windy City ThunderBolts got their bats going early, scoring three runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the Schaumburg Boomers.

Chad Cregar had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.

Robby Donovan couldn't get it done on the hill for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out four.

The Windy City ThunderBolts got one-run boosts in each of the second, third and fourth. In the second, the Windy City ThunderBolts scored on a sacrifice fly by Zach Aakhus, scoring Travis Weaver.

The Schaumburg Boomers showed some life in the ninth with two runs on two hits to close the gap to 6-2. A wild pitch and an RBI single by Drew Heithoff gave the Schaumburg Boomers life. The game went final when Jereme Milons.
