The Kelowna Falcons (27-23) and the Walla Walla Sweets (20-27) passed the lead back and forth three times on Thursday at Borleske Stadium, but in the end the Kelowna Falcons pulled out a 5-4 win over the Walla Walla Sweets.
Tyler Qualls had two extra-base hits for the Kelowna Falcons. He tripled in the seventh inning and homered in the ninth inning.
The Walla Walla Sweets' lineup had no answer for David Cagle. Cagle held the Walla Walla Sweets hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
A bright spot for the Walla Walla Sweets in the defeat was Hunter Virant, who allowed only one run while striking out six.
Ben Ruff couldn't get it done on the hill for the Walla Walla Sweets, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
The Kelowna Falcons were sparked by Qualls and Jerry McClanahan, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.
