The St. Cloud River Bats couldn't get anything going as long as Kevin Vangheluwe was on the mound. Vangheluwe held the St. Cloud River Bats hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Michael Fagan was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Alexandria Beetles batters and allowing one run.
C.J. Gillman got on base three times in the game for the St. Cloud River Bats. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

The Alexandria Beetles added four more runs in the top of the fifth. A ground out scored Ben Magsig for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Chad Bunting's two-run home run, bringing home Vavra.
