Extra-inning thriller favors the Tacoma, 6-4 winners over the Lower Columbia

The Tacoma (28-1) outlasted the Lower Columbia (23-8) at David Story Field 6-4 on Thursday after 12 innings.

With the score tied at three in the twelfth inning, JJ Pino came to the plate and singled, scoring Jeremy Spring.

Derik Bontempo did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Tacoma, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.

Joey Gamache pitched nine innings and allowed three earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out four.

A bright spot for the Lower Columbia in the defeat was Tanner Olson, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.

Ryota Koiwai improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Tacoma. He allowed one run over three innings. Koiwai struck out none, walked none and gave up three hits.

Conner Kahle ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
