Duarte helps the Hannibal Cavemen down the Danville Dans 7-3

The Hannibal Cavemen (29-27) beat the Danville Dans (41-19) 7-3 on Sunday at Clemens Field behind Michael Duarte, who went 2-4.

He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the sixth innings.

The Danville Dans' lineup had no answer for Francisco Rivas. The Danville Dans managed just two hits off of Rivas, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Mitch Holtz got on base three times in the game for the Danville Dans. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Josh Tols recorded his fifth win of the year for the Hannibal Cavemen. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out nine, walked eight and surrendered seven hits.

Miles Nordgren ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
