The Carolina Vipers (15-22) and the Statesville Owls (19-17) each put runners in scoring position on Tuesday, but the Carolina Vipers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-1 win at Statesville Aggies Home Field.

Daniel Massey was solid at the plate for the Carolina Vipers. Massey went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Michael Trombino racked up seven strikeouts in the the Carolina Vipers win. The Carolina Vipers' pitcher gave up just seven hits over five shutout innings.

The Statesville Owls' Nick Rodriguez was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Brennan Daniels (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
